Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this site.
This website is quite basic but is designed with a view to getting my message across and to ask for your help and advice.
The site was started in late April 2010 when nominations were officially opened for the UK General Election. It will be updated further as required.
I would like to thank all the people who voted for me at the 2010 General Election. My total of 528 votes represented 1.5% of the electorate who voted. It was not enough to keep my deposit but it was a good start in getting my name known to the people of this area. I intend to improve on that percentage and to succeed in getting a seat in one of the forthcoming elections where I can begin to show what I can do for this community.
The menu to the left should answer some of your questions.
Please feel free to email me for more specific information and to discuss issues or make suggestions. I will try to answer them all and your help and suggestions are appreciated.
John B McGeechan
Independent Candidate
Airdrie & Shotts Constituency
UK General Election 2010
I have now decided to retire from politics. I have been promoted within my law firm and have given an undertaking to avoid being elected. I will not be standing in future elections.
